Electrical Engineer

This role is based in our offices in Plymouth, MI, USA


Education and Experience (Minimum requirements)

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical / electronic design including both analog and digital circuits, and implementing cost effective solutions


Strong understanding of Data Acquisition and Control systems including communication protocals (Ethernet, CAN), data sampling, filtering, PID control loops


Understanding of AC power both single phase and 3-phase.  Strong knowledge of AC asynchronous motors and drives.  Need to be familiar with drive programming, motor control strategies, cable sizing, and National Electric Codes


CAD skills (OrCad, AutoCAD Electrical or other related programmes)


Strong troubleshooting skills.  Be able to diagnose and repair circuit boards down to component level


Capability of releasing Production Diagrams, and Bills of Materials for new product designs


Work with minimum supervision.  Project ownership


Understanding of project schedules, milestones and deadlines


Mechanical Engineering skillslimited to basic parts assembly, measurement, materials and their properties, bearings, couplings, and other machine elements.  Knowledge of drive shafts, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, pumps.


Onsite installation and support.  Hands on experience. 


Software testing.  Testing new softwarereleases and work with Software Engineers to resolve malfunctions


Additional Preferred Skills


Knowledge of internal combustion engines and their theory of operation

Understanding of Vehcile Dynamics


Project management skills


Computer programming language (eg C++)      

       


Occasional travel is required for this role.
